Aquismart performs two stock takes in Tanzania.

Aquismart was engaged during November and December 2009 to perform two stock takes for a company in Tanzania. The company sent a team of 14 people from South Africa for the first and a team of 10 people for the second stock take. Both stock takes was completed within the specified time as well as within budget and the feedback from the client was that the professionalism and commitment of the Aquismart team exceeded their expectations.

Team Responsibilities

The teams were responsible for the following during the stock takes:

• The pre-planning of stock take
• The mapping of the stock and bins
• The counting of the physical stock
• The re-counts
• The reconciliation between theoretical and physical stock

The generation of the stock take report that included:

• Analysis of the variances
• Identification of issues during the stock take
• Recommendations to improve the controls and management of the inventory

The success for Aquismart with this assignment was due to:

Aquismart directors are directly involved in each and every project.

Employee commitment

Even though the employees had to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for the three weeks of the project, we had their full commitment.

Understanding of the assignment

The employees and management understood the processes as well as the stock items that were counted.

Understanding of the environment

Aquismart management has a indebt knowledge of the stores environment and specifically with regards to stock take procedures and processes.
